3d-Radar announces the release of 3dr Examiner. Completely menu driven within a Windows application, 3dr Examiner is a revolutionary software application that enables users to easily process, analyze and inspect data from 3d-Radar Ground Penetrating Radar systems.

Examples of Features:

Wide selection of processing options for filtering, background removal and 3-d migration compensation

3-dimensional examination of data files with the ability to zoom in on details in the data set

Stitching of multiple data files creates a continuous sub-surface imagery and increase the ability to follow large features

Geo-referencing, automatic (based on GPS) or manual gives user ability to get true position of located objects

Overlay of horizontal slice (time slice) on raster maps / aerial imagery makes it easy to compare sub-surface imagery with map information

Get Real-Time 3-dimensional subsurface images on the fly!

The Real-Time 3D (RT3D) option of the GeoScopeTM GPR gives the user an instant view of data from all data on every channel from a 3d-Radar antenna array while collecting data in the field. This is a industry first and Dr Egil Eide says “I’m very pleased to introduce this feature to allow customers to verify their survey work in the field rather then just rely on the post processing to see the results“

The Real-Time view works by displaying simultaneous views of in-line profile (radargram), cross-line profile and a horizontal time slice at a selected depth.
RT3D makes field work much easier and enables the user to view and recognize targets while surveying as the objects are showed in Real-Time. This unique feature allows users to track an object like a pipe while surveying.
When coupling the RT3D equipped GeoScope with a GPS, operators can mark directly over the object’s location and have an exact position of the object.

Contact 3d-Radar for more information.

May 5, 2009 - Trondheim, Norway

3d-Radar has received a contract from a US Army agency for supplying its unique ground penetrating radar technology. Under the terms of the agreement, 3d-Radar’s innovative step frequency antenna and GeoScope processing solutions are provided to the military.

“This is ground-breaking news and marks a milestone for 3d-Radar as our technology is adapted for use by the US Army. Our technology is well suited for the detection of buried objects like unexploded ordinance (UXO) that the US Army is interested in locating.” says Dr Egil Eide, Managing Director of 3d-Radar. Keys to winning this contract were not only 3d-Radar’s innovative technology, but also the company’s willingness to enhance the product by accelerating development to address needs of interest to the US Army

One such enhancement is the real-time view incorporated into the GeoScope. This optional enhancement enables operators to view post-processed GPR data within milliseconds of the initial GPR capture. The real-time view has been integrated with detection algorithms developed by Exponent, Inc. and provided to the Army. Dr Eide continues, “Giving the operator the ability to make decisions in real-time based on identified imagery is a significant breakthrough and opens several new markets to 3d-Radar.”
